Stephen Hitchcock and David Long from Cape Town produced an outstanding Art Film on the Red Location Cultural Precinct and surrounds.
Fair warning – the 12 minute 8 second video is 75.13 megabytes in size. The HD version on Vimeo clocks in at 320 megabytes.
Stephen and David have managed to capture elements of the award winning building that I, as a frequent visitor, never noticed before. The cathedral like architecture becomes apparent as they wander through and highlight the incredible and surprising shapes, forms and materials. Watch as the corrugated iron of the memory boxes becomes an art piece, see how weathered wood becomes a treasured painting, observe trees that have been shaped by the prevailing winds evocative of the nurturing and constant hand of Mother Nature to this space.

Stephen Hitchcock and David Long are to be congratulated on making my town, Port Elizabeth, look so great that I want to visit it all over again with fresh eyes.
