Port Elizabeth is charged with A4 ideas

PE is sparking with ideas and creativity and wants everyone involved. A one night only exhibition of artworks on A4 will be held in Boomtown’s new studio space in Bridge Street, South End on the night of 31 October. All artworks will be sold for R100 per piece and the proceeds will become seed capital towards an Incredible Ideas Indaba of international standard to be held in 2013.

The public is encouraged to submit any artwork on A4 which doesn’t exceed the weight limit of 200gsm, on any medium but should not have frames, mounts or be made of stretched canvas.

Submit a maximum of 5 entries per person at one of the four drop of points: Boomtown, NMMU (Art and Design School), ArtEC, and the Red Location Museum by Friday 19 October at 16:00 and you will receive a non-transferable voucher to one session at the Incredible Ideas Indaba.

The exhibition will start at 18:30, where buyers will have a half an hour to look and browse, thereafter buyers can start purchasing any artwork for a R100. The night will include artworks from great local artists such as Duncan Stewart, Anthony Harris, Kingstix Faku, Tim Hopwood, Cleonie Cull, Dolla Sapeta, Mkonto Gwazela, Alan Grobler, Greg Kerr, Michael Barry, and many other well known Eastern Cape artists and creatives.
