Official comment from GMSA re the above Business Day article:
Please note that the Business Day article about GMSA stopping Chevrolet Production on the MyPE site is incorrect. We are disappointed with the content of the article which we regard as a misrepresentation of the facts. We brought this to David Furlonger’s attention and a correct version had been published in today’s Business Day.
Note that General Motors remains committed to our operations in South Africa and we remain focused on realising the growth potential of our domestic and export markets.
We continue to build the award winning Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Utility, as well as the Isuzu KB at our vehicle assembly plant at Struandale. We remain focused on strengthening our manufacturing footprint so that we can further grow our production volumes in South Africa.
