Urban Gardens has First Organic Planting Learning Centre operating! This video was broadcast on SABC KYKNET in October
We now wish to replicate this model throughout the community and province. Getting people to plant their own healthy nutritious food – at Elukholweni.
The First Organic planting learning centre has been established by URBAN GARDENS at Elukholweni Farm school. The first harvest took place at the end of 2014, which will be used to prepare healthy meals at school. Lessons in how to grow vegetables and create your own gardens at home have started.URBAN GARDENS hopes to create many such centres at schools and community centres to address the problem of food scarcity.
