The Get Together Christian Fellowship Group will host its second annual conference at Kwa-Magxaki Community Hall from 15 to 17 September 2011. The conference aims to empower, equip and develop the community of the Metro. The theme of this year’s conference is: “Everything pertaining to life and godliness”.
Says project leader and Get Together Chairman, Lwando Bantom “Our vision for this conference is to inspire people to have a vision for their future; to develop and equip the youth of our communities for greater things. We want people to see themselves beyond their current circumstances and know that there is a future filled with possibilities”.
“Our society is riddled with high unemployment, especially with young people, which in many instances leads high drug and excessive alcohol usage” adds Bantom.
According to statistics published by the South African Institute of Race Relations early this year, half of South Africa youth are unemployed. Specifically the unemployment rate among all 15 to 24 year olds is 51%, more than twice the national unemployment rate of 25%.
To inspire, motivate and encourage the community of Kwa-Magxaki and the rest of the Nelson Mandela Metro, the Get Together Christian Fellowship Group has confirmed a number of influential speakers including fashion celebrity and style icon Noni Gasa; Executive Chair of CALULO, Mkhuseli Faku; Gavin Hunt, Head Coach of PSL two-time Champions Super Sport United; Pastor Khaya Maphinda and Bishop Thabo Masenya, who has been invited to speak internationally.
The conference is open to everyone looking for some inspiration and motivation, and entry to most of the sessions is free.
