No Longer Gruncle

Now aka Huncle as I celebrate @hope_weird_ #surfing #milnerton with @georgie_xx_walsh in #capetown.

I am a firm believer in you become what you are referred to. In my case – for many years I was reffered to as ‘Gruncle’. In light of my fairly recent lifestyle changes, new lease on life and slow emergence out of years of depression it is now left to me to remove all reminders of those sad years. One of which is to become once again that happy go lucky person I was over 12 years ago. So I have been gently asking the nieces to now refer to me as Huncle – which I like to think is a combination of Happy and/or Hunky Uncle BUT will settle for Happy Uncle as opposed to Gruncle which was Grumpy Uncle.

Although, truth be told, my nieces always had a bit of a hard time associating Gruncle with me and resorted to calling me Sunny, Funny Alan.

Huncle will do! – Taken by the Editor whilst wandering aimlessly about pretending to be in the know.
