Night Relay Entries Open

Entries open today, 1 May, for the 2012 Investec Night Relay, so rally your colleagues and gather your takkies for the four part business relay series, where friendly competition and rivalry bolsters corporate running and walking teams as they pit themselves against friends, colleagues and competitors.

Held on the first Thursday evening of the next four months, the first Investec Night Relay kicks off on Thursday 7 June from North End Lake, where running teams of five or walking teams of three will tackle the 4.2km route around the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium precinct and North End Lake.

“We are delighted to sponsor the Investec Night Relay series,” says Cumesh Moodliar, Regional Manager of Investec Private Bank.
“It encapsulates the spirit of Investec and the way we like to do business: ultimately it’s about performance, but it’s also about teamwork, friendship and having fun. We encourage local businesses to enter and participate in what promises to be a great event.”

This is the first year Investec has sponsored the event. The inaugural series last year, backed by the Mandela Bay Development Agency and Nelson Mandela Bay Tourism, attracted over 130 business teams and was recognised as a key teambuilding event in the local business community.

“Research has shown again and again that members of the workforce are more productive, happier and suffer less stress if undertaking exercise,” says organiser Michael Zoetmulder of Zports, “so get your team together, log on to our website and join in.”

The events start each evening at 6pm and prize giving follows the race at 8.45pm. Complimentary team photographs, winners’ medals, floating trophies, fantastic lucky draw prizes and live entertainment await the teams on race nights.

Register online at investecnightrelay.co.za. Running teams enter for just R500 and walking teams for R300 per race evening. Teams are encouraged to enter online and avoid the late entry fee on race nights.
