Professor Ronel Rensburg, President of the Public Relations Institute in Southern Africa will meet and network with Members of the Port Elizabeth region at a breakfast at the NMMU North Campus tomorrow (Thursday 11 August from 7:30 am).
Prof Ronel Rensburg was the Head of the Department of Marketing and Communication Management at the University of Pretoria from 2000-2008. She was the Chairperson of the School of Management Sciences in the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences, she is past President of the Southern Africa Institute for Management Scientists (SAIMS: 2001 – 2010).
She has been elected as Board member of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management. Ronel Rensburg is coordinator of all international exchange activities, global research cooperation and collaboration initiatives for the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences at the University of Pretoria.
Ronel holds a BA Degree (Communication) with Honours (Communication), a Masters in Communication and a Doctorate in Communication Science.
She has published books and articles (nationally and internationally) on corporate communication, speech communication, political and government communication, corporate social investment, public relations and reputation management. Her current area of research is the role of reputation management and stakeholder engagement in corporate governance.
She has a specific interest in serving the SADC-region of Africa where public relations theory, research and practice are concerned. Ronel writes speeches for politicians and captains of industry on a continual basis, as well as regular business reviews for a daily newspaper (Business24) in South Africa.
Ronel will be discussing; “The state of the Profession globally”.
Breakfast will cost R100 per person and PRISA members will pay a discounted rate of R70 per person.
