Congratulations Congratulations Congratulations to the Department of Sport, Arts & Culture for bestowing the Companion of OR Tambo accolade to the legendary Reggae superstar, Winston Hubert McIntosh, popularly known as Peter Tosh.

Beside the award being appropriate for international influencers who were against the evil Apartheid system and general Oppression, that ministry outdone itself as Peter Tosh was not a dunce when it comes to sport too, especially Martial Arts whence he must have learnt the Karate kicks he showcased during his live shows.

I really doff my hat to the Department of Sport, Arts & Culture since it is often regarded as some slow-learning stepchild in relation to all the other South African Ministries; not less the fact that it rubber-stamped the political Gqeberha moniker in lieu of the apolitical Port Elizabeth.

The Campanion Of OR Tambo national award given to the late Peter Tosh’s family therefore cements the philosophy that there is some good in everyone; bigoted or not.
