MyPE Top 15

25 April 2011 By Alan Straton

Ho hum here he goes again blowing that battered old bugle – and out of tune again I see!

The Top 10 most visited pages on MyPE for the 5 days from 17 to 22 April reveal some interesting things:

  • Certain companies stay in the Top 15 no matter what
  • Original content with a touch of naughtiness really grabs reader
  • We must have a lot of visitors to PE (or could it be locals?) keeping the Escort Agencies busy!

In a Particular Order – here are the Top 15 Most Visited MyPE Pages:

  1. Wap South Africa – NOW do you belive Janine that you should expand your coverage on MyPE, Wap?
  2. The Herald Online – That a local paper gets referrals from MyPE makes me proud!
  3. Motor Car Parts and Accessories – well PE is the Detroit of Africa so it makes sense.
  4. Wedding Bridal Wear – Maybe it is time for one of the businesses listed here to claim that premium link from Janine?
  5. Pucker up Roland – a tale of forbidden Viking love and unrequited yearnings set against a background of political intrigue.
  6. This is how you tackle PE Harbour security – Why should the security guards have all the fun and frustrate the hell out of you. A practical explanation of Ubuntu – Harbour style.
  7. Escort Services – As a result of the popularity of this page one of the businesses listed there will be our first Premium link in this category – keep checking to see which one.
  8. Duvha Power Station, An Exercise in Incredulity – This article shows how perennially popular certain articles can become. See the spin doctor press release against the context of before and after images of the Duvha Power Station.
  9. Restaurants – A person has to eat, don’t they? On the day of the Neil Diamond concert the most popular page on MyPE was Cubata Restaurant as hordes of people phoned to make bookings to eat before the concert.
  10. Weekend Post – another perennially popular page in the Business Directory.
  11. Motor Car Dealers Used – What can I say? The Detroit of Africa!
  12. Schools – Now I can only conclude that people looking for Schools is indicative of a healthy and growing local economy.
  13. MyPE Classifieds – Free classified ads for 90 days on MyPE. Give it a bash you haff nothing to lose.
  14. Victoria House Imports – Another perennial favourite. Maybe as a thank you they will drop off some free samples of bedtime wear for the Longhair?
  15. Karens Escort Services – Something weird going on here when Motor Cars, Newspapers and Escort Services all make the Top 15 TWICE!

In an attempt to give organisers and interested people insight into the impact that events like the Splash Festival have on the tourism and accommodation industry I have also compiled the list below of the Top 15 accommodation listings visited on MyPE in the same week as above:

  1. Mangolds Guest House
  2. M&N Exclusive Halaal Guest House
  3. Charlottes Web Guest Farm
  4. Northcliff Guest House
  5. Budget Accommodation Port Elizabeth
  6. Calico Guest House
  7. Homeleigh Halt Guest House
  8. Toscana Cottage Accommodation
  9. 2 Third Avenue Guest House and Self Catering
  10. Brighton Bed and Breakfast
  11. Cambridge Cottage
  12. Forest Hall Bed and Breakfast
  13. King Georges Guesthouse
  14. Willow Cottage
  15. Bed and Breakfast Port Elizabeth

Another crazy statistic from MyPE: There are a total of 179 pages on MyPE that have been viewed for an average of LONGER than 10 minutes each this past month, with one page scooping an avergae of 28 minutes and 43 seconds of eye ball time. Now if that isn’t engaging content ……………
