Mustangs Ladies FC featured prominently in SAFA-NMB’s 2011 Awards when the club and its representatives received nominations in all categories and walked away with one of the major awards on Friday 18 November.
The awards function was held at Port Elizabeth’s City Hall and guests were addressed by Dr Danny Jordaan who shared some tips with LFA and club leaders on what it means to be a leader. Mustangs Ladies FC finished in 2nd position at the end of last season’s ABSA Women’s Regional League and received nominations in the following categories:
- Best goalkeeper (Brigitte Köhne; runners up)
- Most progressed player (Carmen Froneman; runners up)
- Best Manager (Mr Marlon Louis; runners up)
- Best Coach (Mr Thobela Thoba; runners up)
- Most Improved Team (Winner)
The award of “Most Improved Team” gives the club and its management a big boost going into the next season. It will ensure that we work hard at maintaining and improving our current league position (2nd after playing four matches).
Remaining fixtures for 2011:
Mustangs’ remaining 3 league fixtures for 2011 are against Park United (5th position) on 27 November at Arcadia, Sophakama (3rd position) on 03 December at NMMU Missionvale Campus Fields and Vulumzi (6th position) on 04 December at Motherwell’s NU 9 Stadium.
