Sharks lock Alistair Hargreaves was drafted into the Springboks’ starting XV today for Saturday’s Castle Tri-Nations Series Test against Australia in Sydney.
He replaces Johann Muller (23 caps) who underwent further evaluation on his hamstring strain during training. The decision was taken that his injury had not recovered sufficiently for him to take his place in the team.
Hargreaves’ place on the bench is taken by his Sharks teammate Ryan Kankowski.
The Springbok team meets the Wallabies at the ANZ Stadium in the opening Castle Tri-Nations test, this Saturday, 19 July.

Could be an interesting game as Friday’s captain’s run at ANZ Stadium has been cancelled, due to the heavy rain and pitch conditions at the venue.
