More Joy For Coega Door of Hope From Stu Davidson and Rotary

With the assistance of the Rotary Club of Port Elizabeth, the Coega Door of Hope recently received a donation of R100 000 from Stu Davidson.

Stu Davidson together with Menno Parsons holds 2 airshows every year and the funds generated are donated to charity. The funds donated to Coega Door of Hope were raised at the airshow in Port Alfred which was held in December.

Davidson approached the PE Rotary Club to assist in finding a suitable charity that could benefit from the donation and The Coega Door of Hope was identified.

The Coega Door of Hope was established in 1999 and is run by Gladys Honjiswa Panda who won the Nelson Mandela Bay Citizen of the Year in 2009 for her work with orphans. The home is situated in Sydenham and there are currently 33 children in her care. The children range in age from newborn to 18 years.

Gladys does not receive any remuneration and relies on overseas funding to keep her doors open. This donation from Stu Davidson will assist in purchasing a vehicle to transport the children to school.
