I received the following SMS from a leading local pub and grub on 22 July 2012: Scrumptious Sunday carvery for R79.00, pensioners pay R34.50.
On Sunday 12 August, we decided to take up this offer. Upon placing our orders, we were asked if we wanted full portions, slightly taken aback we confirmed full portions.
We were billed at R79.00, upon querying the amount charged we were informed that we had full portions. Why, may I ask is the word pensioners used offering a discounted price, when you simply could advertise that you offer half portions,
Pensioners beware of establishments trying to take us for a ride.

Disgraceful, I suggest you name and shame the establishment concerned instead of just warning others about the rip off!
I agree Carole – interesting that this establishment believes that Pensioners stomachs shrink as soon as a patron reaches 60.
Who remembers the time when P+P etc. sold Pensioner Packs of meat?
Fair statement.
I think we are all sick of this type of scamming. Pensioners and family should boycott this place. That is classic misleading advertising. Publish the exact sms and name the place.
