Marius Louw of Cell C Sharks had been cited for an incident that occurred in the 11th minute of the Vodacom United Rugby Championship Round 14 game against Edinburgh Rugby on Saturday, March 26.
The Player was cited for Law 9.17 – “A player must not tackle, charge, pull, push or grasp an opponent whose feet are off the ground” and appeared before a Disciplinary Panel on Wednesday evening March 30. The Panel members were Tommy Dalton, Kim Moloney and John Carrol, all Ireland.
The Panel found sufficient mitigation to conclude that the action of the Player did not meet the red card threshold. Accordingly, the citing has been dismissed and the Player is available for selection for the game against the Dragons on Friday.
