This particular tweet is gaining some traction. It follows on from my visiting the Mango web site after noticing that the hashtag #mangosale was trending on Twitter.
Apparently the Mango shop was ‘mistakenly’ offering items of clothing at R1.00 and shoppers were aggrieved that it was NOT a genuine sale.
When I visited the Violeta/Mango site I noticed that they have two PROMINENT menu links: One that says WOMAN and the other right next to it that says PLUS SIZE.
“What a bloody cheek, “I thought, “aren’t all women just women no matter their size, shape, colour or sexual orientation!”
It is rather strange that a high fashion company ‘discriminates’ against women in this fashion – almost like going to a site for that only has two links: One that says HUMANS and one that says BLACKS / COLOUREDS / INDIANS / CHINESE.
As a Plus Sized Human myself (but NOT one that wears ladies clothes) I felt the pain of discrimination on behalf of my fellow humans.
#mangosale Aren't PLUS SIZED women also women? This is like having a section for Humans and a section for Black! pic.twitter.com/kclwTCozzk
