Lets Chat About Odendaal and Jack Being Booted

After the vote of No Confidence in Former Executive Mayor, Retief Odendaal, his deputy, Khusta Jack and the coalition government as a whole on Friday 16 May 2023 which went against Odendaal and fellows, the social media chatter is deafening as people cry; “Why” and “How is it possible that 62 people can make a decision for 1 Million citizens!”

The answers are not going to be to your liking:

  • If you didn’t vote in the local elections then you have no right to comment
  • If you do not monitor and contribute to the politics in our city then you have no right to comment
  • Our Councillors act with impunity, lack of empathy and PERSONAL GREED only
  • Our Councillors do NOT have the good of our City at heart
  • When a Councillor does demonstrate a focus on our City then other Councillors feel threatened and take him/her out

BUT, I need to ask a very pertinent question; “Did YOUR Ward Councillor attempt just once to get your opinion on any facet of political life like last Friday’s Vote of No Confidence? Did anyone get a question posed which asked quite simply; “Should I as Ward Councillor for Ward XX support or reject the upcoming vote of No Confidence in Odendaal and Jack?”

I can say with absolute conviction that NOT ONE Ward Councillor did so.

REASON: Because they all TOE THE PARTY LINE – every man jack one of them, even Odendaal and Jack.

Once most are in Council that is it – it is their time to worship the God of Mamon and line their own pockets and the pockets of their respective political parties with money or fame and fuck the voter.
