Growing up during those Godless times taught me one lesson about voting that I have carried through to this day:
I have a simple voting philosophy in our democratic state: Vote for the strongest opposition.
Why? A healthy democracy depends on a healthy opposition AND, because politicians are politicians and everybody lies.
South Africa cannot afford to let any party gain an unassailable majority (like the apartheid driven National Party had) as that will lead to much pain in our beloved country.
We must have a strong opposition to keep the ruling party in check and honest.
