Last chance to enter the Absa RUN YOUR CITY GQEBERHA 10K

28 March 2023 By Alan Straton

GOOD NEWS for Gqeberha residents, late entries for the Absa RUN YOUR CITY GQEBERHA 10K will be taken at Race Pack Collection at The Boardwalk (Marine Drive, Summerstrand, Gqeberha) on Friday 31 March between 10:00 – 19:00 and Saturday 01 April between 09:00 – 14:00.

“We can’t wait to celebrate the debut of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series in Gqeberha and would like all residents to be part of the experience,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Founder of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series. “The Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series is a diverse road running series that joins elites, avid runners, walkers, and individuals looking to live healthier lifestyles. A mass participation road race, the Absa RUN YOUR CITY GQEBERHA 10K will highlight city landmarks, include magnificent views and feature lively performances from some of the friendly city’s leading performing arts groups. Entrants can look forward to an action-packed experience from start to finish.”

“Unheard of at road races, just by entering the Absa RUN YOUR CITY GQEBERHA 10K you will stand a chance to win a stylish Chery Tiggo 4 Pro Urban Vehicle valued at over R289 000.00 compliments of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series and event partners Chery South Africa and Absa Vehicle and Asset Finance,” continues Meyer. “To be in the running to win this fantastic prize the following three boxes need to be ticked: you need to enter the event (and pay the entry fee), collect your race number (during the stipulated race pack collection times) and be on the start line on event day.”

“We are also excited to welcome Reach For A Dream Gqeberha and Garden Region and the Animal Anti-Cruelty League Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha as the official charities of the inaugural Absa RUN YOUR CITY GQEBERHA 10K” adds Meyer. “Charity support has always been an important element of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series since the inception of the first event in Cape Town in 2015. We are proud to be able to support two local charities that do fantastic work in the community. When entering the event runners can also show their support. We invite all Gqeberha residents to join in on the fun, make a change and stand a chance to win big as you #RunYourCity.”

Absa’s Group Chief Marketing and Corporate Affairs Officer, Sydney Mbhele, says, “We are all excited and looking forward to a fun-filled 10k race. Our fun MC and dancers will facilitate the fun warm-up and interact with the runners before the race starts.”

“Along the route, the runners will come across our Absa encouragement zone, where our colleagues and dancers will be cheering them on as they continue to tackle the race. Runners that joined Team Absa Walk Run on Strava will get access to the Absa grab-and-go hospitality area after the race,” concludes Mbhele.
