A group of elderly ladies from the St. Barnabas Church in Kwazakhele were recently surprised by Afri-Save Cash and Carry in Uitenhage, when they were treated to a day out in town by the wholesaler.
The group of ladies were picked up in the morning from their church and taken to Greenacres Shopping Centre where they were given some pocket money to spend on anything that their heart desired. After the exhaustion of shopping the ladies were treated to a delicious meal and a cool ice-cream to end off the day.
“It is really amazing that there are organisations like Afri-Save that still care about us and we are very thankful,” said one of the ladies, an 86-year visually challenged woman. It is very difficult for her to get out of the house, because it is always necessary for someone to be with her to assist with simple things like walking and eating and she is extra thankful towards organisations that make events like these possible. “Thank you Afri-Save for caring”, she concluded.
