The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has put a Joint Operation Centre (JOC) in place this afternoon to monitor the area under the jurisdiction of the local government institution after continuous rain has been predicted throughout the night.
The JOC, consisting of Disaster Management, Safety and Security divisions and different departments of the municipality, are currently dealing with different reports received as much needed rain is pouring down.
Residents are requested to avoid lower lying areas and to contact the JOC at 041 501 7987 to report flood related matters.
