Ward 39 of the Nelson Mandela Metro will be holding a Blue Wave Event on Saturday 3 Decemebr 2011.
We have recently planted some trees in Lategan street in Rowallan Park, and there is now a 300 x 6 meter verge growing along Lategan Street.
Ward 39 have requested that the municipality to come cut that section of municipal grass, but the answer we received was that it will only be included in the Municipality’s Budget of 2012.
As a final Blue Wave Event for 2011, Ward 39 has decided to gather the community and fellow Ward 39 members together, hire a garden services and personally cut that 1800 meter verge and rake it all up, as we do not want overgrown grass in our Ward over Christmas.
On Saturday 3 December 2011 from 10:00 am, there will be lots of Ward 39 members in blue T-Shirts, cutting down that verge in a Blue Wave, helping to beautify our ward for the festive season.
We can’t wait for the municipality to only cut the grass in 2012, so we are taking action now and doing it ourselves.
