It is Hell in Africa But Someone Has to do it for You

This morning the Longhair, the Apprentice Longhair and I toddled along to the East Cape Philharmonic Concert in the Park in Victoria Park.

The Longhair and I eventually worked out that the last time we had been in Victoria Park was when she was studying photography. Aaah now that was in the time when I could comfortably pose as Auguste Rodin’s Thinker and make the original model jealous!

What a thoroughly pleasant morning we spent in Victoria Park though – excellent music, great weather, chilled company, strawberries, spansek, parma ham, cheese, champagne and orange juice. I am so glad we went as we have been promising to treat ourselves for the past couple of years and just never got around to it.

Starring on the programme were saxophonist, Andrew Young and singer Tim Moloi.

Young Andrew is a standout and really makes the saxophone talk. If you closed your eyes you could almost imagine old blue eyes himself when Tim got going in full voice.

Do yourself a favour and diarise the Concert in the Park for this time next year. You will recognise our little family easily by the female teenager trying to crawl under the oak leaves whilst her father sings out of tune, hums along and tries to get her to dance with him.
