Have Parrot, Need One Legged Pirate

19 September 2011 By Alan Straton

We have been having a bit of fun today with International Speak Like a Pirate Day and one of the mails I sent out this morning was to the Guest House Tannies who had the foresight to list on BnBPE – a web site listing Bed and Breakfast Accommodation in Port Elizabeth for, quite frankly, a crazy nominal fee.

The mail sent to the Tannies contained my normal nugget of valuable web site marketing advice (which Guest Houses listed on BnBPE get for FREE), many links to the various Pirate Speak articles today on MyPE and a list of each of the Guest Houses as a Pirate would say them:

  • 50 College Drive – 50 “I Be Cuttin’ Off Your Peg-Leg” College Drive
  • 10onCAPE – 10on “Treacherous Grease Wad!” CAPE
  • At Sta-Plus – At “Blimey Thats Good!” Sta-Plus
  • Dandawood – Danda “Shiver me Timbers” wood
  • Dempseys Guest House – Dempseys “Fish Breathed Waster!” Guest House
  • Fernando’s Guest House – Fernando’s “Belay that!” Guest House
  • Forest Hall – Forest “Fancy Scallywag!” Hall
  • Homeleigh Halt – Homeleigh “Thar Be Devil T’ Pay!” Halt
  • King Georges Guest House – K’n “Bilge water down me pants!” Georges Guest House
  • Lyndale Guest House – Lyndale “Thar She Blows!” Guest House
  • Millbrook Guest House – Millbrook “I Likes The Cut Of Your Jib Matey!” Guest House
  • St Phillips Guest House – St “Dinna Spill da rum!” Phillips Guest House
  • The Newton Guest House – Da Newton “Hide me Treasure” Guest Abode
  • Willow Cottage – Willow “All hail the Flying Spaghetti Monster!” Cottage
  • Zareba Guest House – Zareba “Ahoy, Me Hearties! ” Guest House

Anyhoo, in response to my mail one of the Tannies, Nanette Kable, from 50 College Drive sent me an image of her “Parrot looking for a Pirate”

Anyone with a Wooden Leg Looking for a Parrot - then book at 50 College Drive Guest House - Bring Rum, Lots of it!

Passionate about Port Elizabeth and definitely NOT packing for Perth. Alan's ethos is epitomised in the words of Nelson Mandela; "I have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the idea of a democratic and free society. If need be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die." See more articles by Alan.
