Great win for Kevin Richards

By

The absence of PE’s top open water swimmers, most of whom were attending the SA Championships in the Western Cape this weekend, ensured some new winners for Round 8 of the aQuellé Ocean Racing Series at Hobie Beach on Sunday morning.

The most impressive victors on the morning was 51 year old former triple Springbok Kevin Richards in the 1km Ocean Swim. Once SA’s top triathlete, surf lifesaver and pool backstroke swimmer, Richards has impressed with this swimming over past couple of months and Sunday’s win was a just reward for him.

The Series returns in 2 weeks time for the penultimate round for Season XI.
