Chippa shoot down Arrows, rise to third | SuperSport: Chippa United defeated Golden Arrows 2-0 in a Betway Premiership match played at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Saturday night.

Goals from Siphelo Baloni and Andile Jali saw the Chilli Boys record a third win of the league season and rise to third place on the log, while Abafana Bes’thende suffered a third defeat and dropped to 10th.

Chippa had the first sight of goal six minutes into the match, with Bienvenu Eva Nga getting on the end of Malebogo Modise’s cross and heading goal-ward, only for Edward Maova to make a fine save.

COSAFA Women’s Cup: Botswana, Malawi get Group B wins in Gqeberha – Africa Top Sports: Results from match day 2 of Group B at the 2024 HOLLYWOODBETS COSAFA Women’s Championship have left the pool wide open with three sides still with a chance to qualify for the semi-finals following matches at Madibaz Stadium in Gqeberha on Saturday.

Botswana went to the top of the log with four points after thrashing Mauritius 5-0 in the first game. Yaone Modise scored the third hat-trick of the tournament with all her goals coming in the second half including a late penalty in the game.

The other two goals came from Keitumetse Dithebe in the opening 10 minutes and Ontlametse Gaonyadiwe in injury time of the first stanza.

India squad for South Africa T20 2024: Sanju Samson, Avesh Khan make team: Sanju Samson and Avesh Khan were selected in the Indian cricket team that will tour South Africa from November 8.

The BCCI selection committee, on Friday, named the 15-member squad, to be led by Suryakumar Yadav, that will play four T20Is in the rainbow nation next month.

The series will start with a T20 at Durban on November 8 with Gqeberha hosting the second match on November 10. The action moves to Centurion for the third T20 to be played on November 13 with the final T20I at Johannesburg on November 15.

VVS Laxman Set To Become India Head Coach For South Africa Series: VVS Laxman is set to be the head coach of the Indian team for their short white ball tour to South Africa according to a report published by Cricbuzz. He will coach the Indian side as national head coach Gautam Gambhir will be guiding the national side in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. According to the report by Cricbuzz, a top official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday.

The four-match series was not pre-planned but it was arranged by the BCCI and Cricket South Africa. India will play four T20Is in Durban, Gqeberha, Centurion and Johannesburg on November 8, 10, 13 and 15 respectively. WATCH | Officials monitor dam levels amidst Level 6 weather warnings: The Cape Winelands and the West Coast areas remain on Level 6 of disruptive weather, while the Overberg and other regions have been downgraded to Level 4.
