EPRU High School Management Teams Announced

29 November 2012 By Alan Straton

Eastern Province has, over the years, produced prodigious talent on a consistent basis – as was proven at this year’s Coca-Cola Craven Week and also by the large numbers of home players playing for top flight provincial and franchise teams.

In continuing with the tradition of unearthing and producing talent EPRU has made public the names of the various officials who’ll be part of the management teams of the various EPRU High School sides in 2013.

Gordon Nolan takes over as Head coach of the EP u18 Craven Week City team after having been at the helm of the EP u16 Team who were crowned Grant Khomo Week champions in 2010. Mr Willem Oktober (Chairperson of Eastern Province High Schools Rugby Union) reiterated that Mr Brian Matthews (Director of Coaches, Grey High) will ensure that the high standards set by the EP teams are maintained. “We have taken a conscious decision that all the top schools in our region were involved in the selection of the team management so as to ensure that we maintain a high level of competitiveness. Passionate about Port Elizabeth and definitely NOT packing for Perth. Alan's ethos is epitomised in the words of Nelson Mandela; "I have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the idea of a democratic and free society. If need be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die." See more articles by Alan.
