Dina Bekker says:

My artwork is a personal and reflective exploration of the diversity of humankind (often focused on women) and the roles they fulfill. Through figuration and abstraction, I investigate the lived experiences of humanity. Conflicting responsibilities become a moral dilemma instead of competing rights.

As an artist, mother, and wife my work also narrates themes of identity, relationships, connectedness, and the inevitable ethic of care. My hope is that my work encourages us to continually move forward, often braving emotionally turbulent waters, yet always surfacing for those light-hearted moments in between.
