Did you sail the RYC Interschools in 1976?

RYC Interschools 2016

The very first Redhouse Yacht Club Interschools dinghy regatta was held on 1976, and 40 years later RYC is presenting their ….. 40th Interschools.

The twist in the plot is that RYC are seeking any ‘old’ pupils that sailed Interschools at any time in the past 40 years to indulge in a bit of nostalgia and sail in a special old pupil race on Sunday 21 March 2016. All classes of boat (that can fit on the river) will be welcome for this special race.

The 40th Interschools will be sailed from the Redhouse Yacht Club from 19 to 21 March 2016 wherein Junior and High Schools will compete on a solo and team basis for trophies in the following classes: Optimist, RS Tera, O’9er, Laser, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, Gypsy, Dabchick and an Open Class.

The entry fee is R220.00 per competitor which includes lunches and teas on all three days. Entries close on 13 March.

For more info, NOR & Entry form visit the RYC – www.ryc.co.za or contact Rhona (041 463 1611) or Pam (041 373 2345).

Passionate about Port Elizabeth and definitely NOT packing for Perth. Alan's ethos is epitomised in the words of Nelson Mandela; "I have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the idea of a democratic and free society. If need be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die." See more articles by Alan.
