The ANC Nelson Mandela Region’s Business & Professionals’ Forum (BPF) together with the ANC EC Provincial Fincom (Finance Committee) today hosted a highly successful Business Breakfast at the Summerstrand Inn in Nelson Mandela Bay.
About a hundred and twenty company executives and professionals engaged with guest speakers Stone Sizani, NEC member who was recently appointed ANC Chief Whip of the National Assembly, Enoch Godongwana, ANC Chairperson of the Economic Development Desk, Mlibo Qoboshiyane, Eastern Cape MEC for Local Government & Traditional Affairs, and Mcebisi Jonas, MEC for Economic Development, who collectively spoke on the challenges and state of the economy and governance, and ensuing plans. Guests were welcomed by newly elected ANC Provincial Chairperson Phumulo Masualle, who took a brief break from the ANC Provincial Conference currently taking place at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU).
Also in attendance were newly elected ANC Nelson Mandela Bay Regional Chairperson and Deputy Executive Mayor Chippa Ngcolomba, Mayoral Committee member and ANC Regional Treasurer Wandisile Jikeka, and Mayoral Committee member Balu Naran.
Soul Good Chief Executive Arlen Mungur said that the Business Breakfast was a “valuable experience.”
“It gave us a fantastic opportunity to engage with key people in the leadership of the ANC and government in a relaxed environment, and at the same time allowed us to network with other business people from the province.”
COO of the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, Chantal Dupisani commended the initiative and lauded the guest speakers. “All speakers were relevant, frank and practical. They gave us a good account of the ANC’s and government’s vision and plans and were candid about the challenges being experienced in attaining that vision.”
“I was absolutely blown away by the speakers – the morning was interesting and insightful. I left feeling that our leaders have their fingers on the pulse of issues, have a plan for our future and are honest about the challenges. Instead of criticizing, we can all be more constructive and work together with the ANC and government to address our collective challenges.”
