Bilkers hit PE Guesthouse

11 October 2014 By Port Elizabethan

Hi All

Just been victim of 2 bilkers. The company is called “The Grand Solar” Umhlanga, a young Indian guy called Carl and young black guy called Sanele.

It was a last minute booking, somebody called Miranda Dos Santos phone booked, asked for invoice and promised immediate payment blah blah.

But this morning they are gone and no payment in my account, stayed 2 nights.

Please pass on to other guest houses in P.E.

Kind regards

Once Bitten

Editor: Bilkers are miscreants who leave without paying. See our Top 10 accommodation choices here.

Hindsight is always 20/20 but it doesn’t hurt to retain credit card details, validated.

The same thing happened to me – Guesthouse in King WIlliam’s Town (Monday, 20 October). Indian man by the name of Jody Alson (ID No: 8409295186084) also from company Grand Solar. Took down all their relevant details including car registration and company details but also skipped out without paying taking our remotes and room keys with them! Car registration is ND141119 – 3 guys travelling together. Cellphone no given was 060 7626480.

From the discussion on Facebook: Also found out that these people are the “Eskom” scammers. They are selling equipment which is supposed to save 40 % of your electricity bill, all false.
