Bayworld Upbeat Over Relaunch

The Bayworld Oceanarium Opening Launch takes place on the 11th December 2011. This is for the whole family. Entrance fee is adults R25 and children R15 which includes entry to the entire complex including the Museum, Snake Park, Dinosaur Park and Oceanarium and a smaller more personal aquarium.

The programme for the day includes exciting activities such as crocodile feeding, behind the scenes at the Snake Park, treasure hunts, behind the scenes of the collections, and for those who can stomach it a shark dissection with one of the curators. On this day we will also be having a jumping castle for the children and a volunteer from one of the members of public to have a kiss from the seal and feeding as well. Watch our penguins in action.

Visitors will still enjoy the daily scheduled seal and penguin presentations at the Oceanarium, as viewing the impressive collection of fish in the Aquarium. The variety of Eastern Cape reptiles in the Snake Park alongside the popular dinosaur display is a great family experience as well as the journey down memory lane thorough in the Museum.

Local audio and AV integration company, AVITECH SYSTEMS, has sponsored a BOSE sound system for the new-look Bayworld. The company has installed BOSE weatherproof loudspeakers to cover the seal pool and penguin presentation areas, as well as the amphitheatre and aquarium, all  connected to a digital audio control system. Lawrence Bricknell, owner and Manager of Avitech Systems says “Bayworld has been a part of our upbringing in Port Elizabeth since I was a child, and we’re delighted to be able to give something back”

This will be a day not to forget so bring along your cameras and make memories like never before with the whole family. There will also be kiddies rides, boerwors rolls stand and cupcakes for sale.

On this day the complex opens at 09:00 and closes at 17:00.
