Bayworld Summer Special

8 February 2011 By Alan Straton

Bayworld

To emphasise that Bayworld is not closed or even planning to close, another of the SPECIAL PROGRAMMES of 2011 will be held on the 13th February 2011. This LATE SUMMER SPECIAL is for the whole family. Reduced admission for adults, R20 (half price) and children FREE accompanied by a paying adult.

The programme for the day includes exciting activities such as a seal dissection, crocodile feedings, behind the scenes at the Snake Park, penguin march, penguin feeding, seal feedings, aquarium feeding, valentines couple hunts, behind the scenes in collections, highlight tours in the museum and much more. Grizel Hart curator of No.7 Castle Hill Historical Museum will be playing some old fashioned children games in the forecourt to be enjoyed by all. These games include skipping, marbles and tops. Other activities for the children include face painting and a jumping castle.

Visitors are encouraged to come and enjoy the seal and penguin presentations at the Oceanarium, as well as the impressive collection of fish in the Aquarium. Some of these attractions will be taken off display later in the year. The variety of Eastern Cape reptiles in the Snake Park alongside the popular dinosaur display is a great family experience as well as the journey down memory lane thorough in the Museum. Bella Bay Café also invites families to a tasty break between activities. The stunning First People Artists exhibition comprising beautifully crafted quilts, featuring San mythologies, is also still on view until 20 March 2011.

The complex opens at 09:00 and closes at 17:30 for the Late Summer Special.
