Back to School

11 January 2012 By Alan Straton

Wednesday 11 January – the day of school traffic jams in Port Elizabeth as thousands of parents accompany their offspring to their first day at school.

The smell of brand new school clothes and bags along with new stationery is one that will continually evoke pleasant memories in the course of these young children’s lives.

MyPE wishes all first time ‘big school’ children the very best in their all too short 12 years at school.

Just remember that if the pass mark is 30% that doesn’t mean that you should aim for 30% – aim for 100% and make yourself proud.

Wish our new scholars the very best in the comments section below.

Passionate about Port Elizabeth and definitely NOT packing for Perth. Alan's ethos is epitomised in the words of Nelson Mandela; "I have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the idea of a democratic and free society. If need be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die." See more articles by Alan.
