We have been walking through the valley in the vicinity of Little Walmer Golf Estate for some years now.
Some two years ago the alien vegetation was cleared and the beautiful fynbos emerged. For the last few years there has been no effort to clear the Port Jackson which is now rampant. Its now necessary for us to walk carrying a firearm.
The vegetation is now a serious fire hazard and I shudder to think of the consequences for the townhouse developments bordering the area if a fire should rip through the area.
Cyclists have created paths in the area but their hard work has been in vain as the vegetation quickly swallows them up.
What can be done?
