Arrest of suspect in Sydenham

Early this today, Mount Road sector managers arrested one suspect (34) for possession of suspected stolen property.

The members were busy with patrols in the area of Sydenham when they identified a suspect pushing a trolley. The members approached the suspect and enquire from him regarding the property he was pushing on the trolley. The suspect claimed it was scrap, with further investigation the members found an computer, bags of game tokens, Fifa World Cup clothes and various other items the suspect also had housebreaking implements in his possession .

The members traced the owner and he confirmed that he had a burglary at his business. The suspect 34 year old suspect was arrested and detained on charges of Possession of suspected Stolen Property. A case of Burglary was also opened and it will form part of the investigation. The value of the recovered goods is estimated at R20000.00. The suspect will appear in the Port Elizabeth New Law Courts on Monday 02 March 2015.
