Angel Mey is a Sculptor based in The Valley, Nelson Mandela Bay.

Angel Mey says:

Angel is an artist that was born and raised in South Africa and hails from Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape.

She has been making art for several years, both in and out of an academic setting. Rooted in sculpture, she explores the synthesis of various forms of  art to create visual narratives.

She believes that human society runs on stories. It always has. From oral myths past down generations, to the paintings marked on the inside of cave walls, to the films we watch, and the books we read today, stories create our reality, they shape the way we as individuals see the world. A good story can change our perception and help us change the biases in our interpretation of the world.

Her work sets out to explore ways of meaningful storytelling within the fields of visual art.
