And the Groendal Dam Reaches 100% Capacity

But wait, before you rush out and fill that pool think about this: The Groendal Dam has reached 100% capacity and contains 11 645 Megalitres of water whilst the Impofu Dam at 21 926 Megalitres has only reached 22.3% capacity. Not only that, but water restrictions are STILL in place.

Welcome news for residents is that the Dam Levels once again increased to 108 386 megalitres representing a total available water capacity of 39.1%.

The REVISED target is to stay under 230 megalitres per day and the average daily consumption for May to date has been 237 Ml – so keep on saving people, we may need the water come summer with high winds and rapid evaporation from the dam surfaces.

  • Kouga: 46,7% – 60 033 Ml
  • Churchill: 33,8% – 12 002
  • Impofu: 22,3% – 21 926
  • Loerie: 70,9% – 2 780
  • Groendal: 100% – 11 645
  • Average all: 39,1% of total combined capacity (108 386 Ml divided by 277 401 – Total available UP by 7 218 Megalitres on last week).
