Amateur cricket clubs lay complaint of fraud – Reaction

EP Cricket Acting President, Vuyo Ntswahlana issued this statement today:

“I refer to the article headlined ‘Amateur cricket clubs lay complaint of fraud’ which appeared in the Weekend Post of 19 May 2012. While it is not the norm to respond to and to resolve issues in the media it is sometimes necessary to respond to speculation that appears in the media.

Although the Board has not received any official notification of the alleged complaint laid with the police I wish to point out that the allegation of fraud is a serious one that needs to be substantiated with facts.

We are currently looking into the matter, are prepared to co-operate with the authorities and once we have established accurate information, we will engage with our stakeholders.”
