A Puppet of the Whites

More and more today we are seeing statements, aimed at young South Africans forging ahead locally and in the world that are derogatory on so many levels.

Consider the perennial throw away lines used by the social media haters such as; “This is a puppet of whites”, “She is going to be used against herself”,  “Black faces used to justify white rule’, “Brilliant blacks minds subjecting themselves to minority racism” and on and on and on and on.

Just how does an ordinary man in the street engage positively with that?

Especially in the narrow walls of Social Media sites where people think that what happens there is real!

I have seen time and time again how supposedly intelligent people on social media will accept a statement or image as gospel – too lazy to go and corroborate the facts from other sources. As more and more people realise that the Social Media sheep are too farging lazy to find out the truth then we will see more and more bizarre ‘facts’ being ‘leaked’ and ‘peddled’ on Social Media.

With regards to the statements about race and puppets and tea girls and minority racism I have one fervent hope: “One day we will ALL put our country first and demand excellence, choose the brightest, support the best and ALL share in the great prosperity that will follow.”

So for now:

  • Don’t unfollow the haters – they need your support and input
  • Treat the haters with love – offer them a hug and engagement
  • Temper and harden the blade of your success in the fire of the haters every now and then
  • Accept the haters pleading for help graciously and ask for nothing in return
  • Don’t use those divisive words (white, black, coloured, indian, english, afrikaans, xhosa, zulu, sotho…) rather use South African or African
  • Continue celebrating every achievement whether great or small
  • Be happy.
