Would you do a job for $5.00?

The one good thing about the dismal state of the rand and, in a funny kind of way, I feel inclined to say; Thanks Jacob!” is that for anyone selling services online and pricing them in rands your earnings goes up. On the other hand, businesses priced in rands are suffering if their main product – like web hosting – is priced in dollars.

A good friend of mine recently re-introduced me to Fiverr – a community of online sellers who sell their basic services for the princely sum of $5.00 – many up-sell options are given in order for the price to be a little more but the majority of one’s sales will be for $5.00. Of course if you deliver exemplary service your buyer is able to give you a tip as well.

Fiverr is a buyer and seller community – sign up HERE – by doing so you will be giving me a tip after spending $10.00.

I signed up earlier this month with the idea that I could put my meagre writing and photographic skills to work and, as an afterthought, added a Gig (job) to install WP Robot and set up campaigns for people confused by the tectonic logic built into this autoblogging software that I swear by.

As luck would have it I may have stumbled upon a bit of a winner and have had some great feedback from my first two clients – one of whom ordered another writing Gig from me and the other of whom, who wanted a Gig done chop chop, was so happy that he gave me a tip – Click HERE to see the feedback and 5 star ratings.

Anyway the point of this is that my simple philosophy of finding a niche, doing something that I love and am good at it, whilst over delivering certainly seems to have paid off in these early days.

Exciting stuff for me as I continue on my journey to make myself stronger whilst making other people strong.
