Young Talented South African Rugby Player – Duan Du Plessis [video]

Here is some footage of a young, versatile player from the Eastern Cape named Duan Du Plessis. Playing at school level he mostly played as an 8th man and eventually moved to flanker.

He played at Daniel Pienaar Technical High School in Uitenhage and now that he is at the Eastern Province Rugby Academy he has played mostly on the flank, but he has been moved to hooker and has performed very well in that position.

Duan is a player with a very high workrate defensively just as much as on the offence. An excellent fetcher as well as good with the ball. He takes on defenders with aggression and even more so when on the defence.

Running in between the backs is also not a problem as he is a very skillful player and can always move the well when running or even get the offload in the contact.

He’s the type of player that frustrates the opposition never giving them a moment of peace whether it is making the ball slow or hitting them with everything he’s got.
