Winter Warm Beach series

The Endurade Winter Series heads for Pollok Beach this Sunday morning with lots of great action for the whole family. Starting from 10am behind the Summerstrand Surf Lifesaving Club, there will be no fewer than 7 events for the participants to choose from, these including a sprint distance triathlon, 750m ocean swim, sprint distance Duathlon, mini Duathlon, kids Duathlon, 5km beach fun run and a kids 1.25km beach run.

Top EP triathletes Travis McGrath, Keegan Cooke and Jared Jordan will be the favourites for the Men’s sprint distance triathlon which involves a 750m swim, 20km cycle and 5km run whilst Robyn Furstenburg, Lindie Steyn and Candice Steyn would be expected to dominate the ladies triathlon. Ross Helliwell , Louis Dupper and Warren Pavis would be the ones to watch in the sprint distance Duathlon which involves a 2.5km run, 20km cycle and 5km run. The mini Duathlon distance, for those 12 years and over, will be a 1.25km run, 10km cycle and 2.5km run which saw young 13 years Andrew Bosch  victorious last month. For the kids 8 years and over, the kids Duathlon will comprise a 1.25km run, 5km cycle, 1.25km run.

The Endurade Winter Series will be taking place on the first Sunday of the month during winter and this month’s races are followed by events in August and September ahead of the 12th Season of the aQuellé Ocean Racing Series which starts in October.
