Who’s Who and What’s New?

19 September 2013 By Alan Straton

Are you an artist 18 years or older and resident in Nelson Mandela Bay? Are you eager to showcase and promote your visual art? If you answered yes to both of these questions then you are eligible to enter the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum’s annual exhibition Who’s Who and What’s New?

This unselected community exhibition is run annually by the Art Museum to identify and publicise practicing visual artists and visual art groups in Nelson Mandela Bay. From students to both amateur and established artists, this exhibition is a great opportunity to showcase current art in the Bay.

There is no entry fee. Artists are asked to submit only one original work created in the last year.

Artists who lack the financial resources to mount and frame their works may apply to the Art Museum for assistance before 25 October 2013.

Works must be delivered together with a completed entry form to the Art Museum on 27 November 2013 during normal opening hours 9:00 – 16:30.

The exhibition will be on show from 4 December 2013 – 12 January 2014.

Entry forms are available at the reception desk of the Art Museum. For more information contact the Art Museum on 041 5062000 or email Emma O’Brien at artmuseum@mandelametro.gov.za.

You can also visit the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Art Museum’s facebook page for details.

Passionate about Port Elizabeth and definitely NOT packing for Perth. Alan's ethos is epitomised in the words of Nelson Mandela; "I have fought against white domination and I have fought against black domination. I have cherished the idea of a democratic and free society. If need be, it is an ideal for which I am prepared to die." See more articles by Alan.
