The South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) hereby gives notice that the West Bound on-ramp and off-ramp at the Commercial Road intersection in Port Elizabeth will be closed today, Sunday, October 4 for repairs.
The following measures will be put in place to accommodate traffic:
- VMS board on the approach (on the N2) to warn the traffic of ramp closure (Message: “Commercial off-ramp closed, detour Stanford road”).
- VMS board on both sides of the bridge (North and South) to warn approaching traffic of closure and these boards will also indicate what detour they must use.
- The traffic will still be able to cross the bridge.
- The ramps will be barricaded where closure starts and proper signage will be in place.
Motorists are advised to plan their trips.
