On 24/10/2024 Wayne voted Yes in our poll on ending punitive water tariffs.
Wayne Says:
It is illegal what NMBM is doing. I am not only charged a higher tariff, but the NMBM made an erroneous reading that was logged on their system which left me with a bill charged at a much higher rate. Despite me sending in weekly readings, the discrepancy from one month to the next was big. August was 10Kl and then September was 44kl. After I lodged a query I was asked what did I do to result in this high water usage. By charging ratepayers at a higher rate surmount to blatant theft and fraud. I have resorted to only paying my normal monthly water average. Thank you. United we stand against this incompetence and mismanagement.

On 12 December 2024 the NMB ended the Punitive Water Tariffs. Thank you to all who voted and put pressure on the Muni to end these tariffs.
All responses are also submitted to the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality and Director of Water.
