Warriors meet Knights in Kimberley

The Momentum 1Day Cup gets underway this weekend and the Chevrolet Warriors will travel to Kimberley for their first match of the series against the Chevrolet Knights. The match will take place on Sunday 4 November and will commence at 10:00am.

The 13 man squad for the first match is as follows: Jon-Jon Smuts, Ashwell Prince, Colin Ingram, Kelly Smuts, Davy Jacobs (Captain) (Wicket Keeper), Craig Thyssen, Simon Harmer, Aya Gqamane, Wayne Parnell, Makhaya Ntini, Andrew Birch, Colin Ackermann and Basheer Walters.

“It is a new competition in a sense with some changes to the rules which will make it interesting. For us this is a fresh start and we are really keen to do well in this format of the game” said Coach Piet Botha.

Captain Davy Jacobs “There is a great vibe in the team and all the players are looking forward to the shorter format of the game. We have prepared well and hope to get off to a good start in our Momentum 1Day campaign”.

  • 7 November: vs Bizhub Highveld Lions – in Port Elizabeth
  • 9 November: vs Sunfoil Dolphins – in Durban
  • 16 November: vs Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras – in East London
  • 18 November: vs Nashua Titans – in Port Elizabeth
  • 23 November: vs Chevrolet Knights – in Port Elizabeth
  • 25 November: vs Nashua Titans – in Benoni
  • 30 November: vs Nashua Mobile Cape Cobras – in Cape Town
  • 2 December: vs Bizhub Highveld Lions – in Johannesburg
  • 5 December : vs Sunfoil Dolphins – in East London

Tickets for the match at Axxess St George’s on 7 November are on sale now. Adults R50, students (on presentation of student card) R35, scholars and pensioners R20.
