Ward 10 & 40 by-election candidates announced

The Democratic Alliance today announced the selected candidates for the upcoming Ward 10 and Ward 40 by-election candidates saying that the successful candidates will bring a strong blend of youth and experience to the metro caucus.

Dacre Haddon has been selected as the candidate for the Ward 40 by-election. Haddon returns from a term in Bhisho where he served with distinction as an MPL and also served two prior terms as the councillor for Ward 6 in the metro caucus. In addition, he held the position of DA Chief Whip in council.

He brings a strong track record of outstanding service and solid experience to the metro caucus and his successful return will significantly strengthen the 2016 effort of the metro caucus.

Andy Jordan, the candidate for Ward 10 sees the addition of another youthful, energetic activist to the ranks of the metro caucus. Andy is a successful graduate of the Democratic Alliance’s Provincial Young Leadership program and has already proven himself in a short time to be a committed, hard working and enthusiastic member of the party.

The selected candidates fill the vacancies left by Cllrs Vicky Knoetze and Marshall Von Buchenroder who have both taken up seats in the Provincial Legislature.

We wish them well in the upcoming by-elections which are both key to continuing the strong momentum of the Democratic Alliance in building a new majority in the metro in 2016.
