As you awake from your night of revelry and taste that wooly mouthed feeling thinking to yourself; “So thirsty, I obviously didn’t drink enough last night!” give Josh Enslin a thought. By 06h00 this morning Josh had been surfing at Pollock Beach in Port Elizabeth for 18 hours through the night and has 12 hours to go to break the current world marathon surfing session of 29 hours and 27 minutes.

Surfer Josh Enslin is attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the longest surfing marathon at Pollock Beach in Port Elizabeth.

The thirty year old will attempt a surfing session lasting more than 30 hours, to beat the current record of 29 hours and 27 minutes set by American surfer Ben Shaw last year. He started his mission at noon on Saturday and is expected to complete it this evening. Enslin says the record attempt is not only for personal achievement, but to also raise funds, clothes, food and other non-perishable items for street children and a children’s home.
