The Municipality would like to inform residents that the Churchill pipeline will be shut down in-order to install bulk meters as part of the water conservation and demand management program.
This opportunity will also be used to inspect the pipeline for leaks.
Reservoirs have been pre-filled, but there is a risk of disruption if storage is depleted before work is completed.
The pipeline will be shut down on Tuesday, July 20, 2021.
The work is expected to be completed by 19:00.
Low pressure or disruptions may occur in the following areas:
- Walmer Downs
- Mangold Park
- Glen Hurd
- Parts of Walmer
- Newton Park
- Greenacres
- Parts of Cotsworld
- Parts of Schauderville
- Linkside
- Mill Park
- Parts of Central
- Mount Croix
- Perridgevale
- Deal party
- North End
- Sydenham
The situation will be closely monitored, and water tankers will be made available if reservoir storage levels fall below a certain level.
Water tanker positions will be communicated via NMBM social media and can be inquired about by calling the call centre at 0800 20 5050.
Consumers are urged to use water sparingly and avoid stockpiling, as this will hasten the depletion of storage.
We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.
